Icons (2014)

Icons exhibition 2014, proposed by the Association for Contemporary Jewellery (ACJ), and co-curated by Terry Hunt (ACJ chair), and the curators at the National Centre for Craft and Design in Sleaford was a fantastic show, some jewellers had chosen iconic designs such as the angle poise lamp, others buildings, celebrity icons included Vivienne Westwood, David Bowie, a splash of humour came with Terry’s own piece based around Monty Python’s “Dead Parrot” sketch.

The ethereal, beautiful, green eyed Tilda Swinton has inspired these pieces. Cool, mysterious moonstone and amethyst reflect her strong, brave and wise character.

An active heart against injustice, the Pool of Wisdom ring is a portal to understanding and clarity; Hear my Words neckpiece, is reminiscent of an implement to capture and release words of solidarity, empathy and passion.
